Duke goes 1-1 for the week


Duke played Virginia Tech Saturday and walked away with a win. The final score was 75-60. Austin Rivers was the high scorer for Duke and for the game with a total of 18 points. Austin went 11-17 from the field and didn’t shoot any free throws. Duke out-rebounded Virginia 33 to 29 which hurts a team. Turnovers hurt Virginia as well as they had 13 to dukes 7. Erick Green was the high scorer for Virginia with a total of 17 points, shooting 7-13 from the field. Erick also shot 4-4 from the line.

After beating Virginia, Duke lost to Miami 74-78. Reggie Johnson of Miami was the high scorer for the game scoring a total of 27 points. He shot 11-18 from the field and 50% from the line. Duke was out-rebounded 48-43, hurting them along with 11 turnovers. This loss puts Dukes record at 19-4, and 6-2 in the ACC. Dukes next game is Wednesday, February 8, against North Carolina.

  3. I watched the end of the Miami game and it kind of sucked. They were only two points off before the last basket and foul.

  4. I don't follow college basketball much, but I do know that Duke has a strong tradition, so I expect they'll do well in March.

  6. Though this isnt about the UNC game, Im going to bring it up. Duke got SO lucky, making a last second 3 pointer? Ugh, I was a very angry girl! :P
